This is the earliest [known to the author] use of the earliest US Boy Scout label on cover front.


The addressee, J. Emory Renoll, was a stamp dealer who advertised in Boys' Life. Boy Scout labels


appear on many of his covers. In Jan, 1923, there were only two illustrated labels to chose from:


S14-2 from 1914,& S22-1 from 1922.
