The earliest US Scout cancellations, cancel #1 through cancel #13 were issued for the Boy Scouts.


Including the different types, the naval ship cancels, and summer camp cancels, there are 26 of these.


21 are pictured in the Print Catalog and two are pictured in the "Cancellations" Section of "Additions", all full size.



USA Scout Cancel #14


This is the first United States Girl Scout Cancellation.  There are four types.

The cancels were used from 01/01/62 through 03/12/62 from 29 different cities.   Each location


used only one type of cancel.   First day of use varied among locations.   For all, the last day of


use was March 12.   Just four examples of the Greenwich, CT cancel are known (to the author)


and it is the scarcest of the lot.   There are 24 different cachets known.   The detail appears


on the following chart of 280 different covers.   Click on 1962 at the top of the page to
